Frequently Asked Questions

Aera guides you through the physiological sigh — a double inhale through the nose followed by a long, slow exhale through the mouth. Backed by Stanford neuroscience, it's the fastest known way to reduce acute stress. One cycle takes about 12 seconds.
No. Aera works completely offline with no account, sign-in, or registration required. Your session data stays on your device. Pro users can optionally enable iCloud sync.
Open the app. Tap the breathing circle on the home screen. Follow the animated circle through the three phases: inhale (4s), top-up inhale (1s), exhale (7s). That's it. One session defaults to one full cycle (~12 seconds).
Subscriptions are managed entirely through Apple. To cancel: go to your iPhone's Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → Aera → Cancel Subscription. You can also manage subscriptions at appleid.apple.com. Your Pro access continues until the end of the current billing period.
Open Aera → Settings → Aera Pro → Restore Purchase. Make sure you're signed in to the same Apple ID used for the original purchase. If you still have issues, email us at myaerasupport@gmail.com.
Yes. Aera is fully functional offline. Breathing sessions, history, and all core features work without any network connection. iCloud sync (Pro feature) requires connectivity.
Aera requires iOS 17.0 or later. It's optimized for iPhone — iPad support may come in a future update.

Troubleshooting

The haptics aren't working

Go to Aera Settings → Feedback → Haptic Feedback and make sure it's toggled on. Also check that your iPhone's Ring/Silent switch isn't in silent mode and that System Haptics is enabled in iOS Settings → Sounds & Haptics.

My session history is missing

Session history is stored locally on your device. If you switched devices, history won't transfer unless you have Aera Pro with iCloud sync enabled. History on the free tier shows the last 30 days.

Daily reminders aren't appearing

Check that Aera has notification permission: iOS Settings → Notifications → Aera → Allow Notifications. Also verify the reminder is enabled inside Aera Settings → Daily Reminder.

The app crashed or something isn't working right

Try force-quitting and reopening the app. If the issue persists, delete and reinstall Aera (your session data will remain if iCloud sync is enabled). Email us at myaerasupport@gmail.com with a description of what happened and your iOS version.
